Health Occupations  Students of America

Founded in 1976, Health Occupations Students of America is the national technical organization for secondary  students enrolled in Health Occupations,  Medical Careers and Emergency and Protective Services.  “HOSA’s… mission is to promote career opportunities in health care and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.” The organization also provides students opportunities to develop leadership responsibilities, professional competencies, citizenship responsibilities, personal growth and health career awareness.

Students who participate in HOSA will develop an understanding of current health care issues, environmental concerns, and survival of the community, nation and world.  HOSA assists in building self-confidence and pride in one’s work, as well as helps with making realistic career choices and with seeking successful employment in the health care field.
