New Enrolling NOW for Fall 2012!

Students who enroll in the Dental Technology program learn a variety of skills that enable them to become a dental assistant, dental laboratory technician, and/or pursue a career as a dental hygienist.  The program focuses on patient-centered care in support of improving oral health as a key to personal health and well being.

The major areas of study in the course follow EFDA technical standards, including: dental radiology, oral pathology, chair-side dental assisting, anatomy and physiology, dental materials, sterilization and business office procedures.  The dental assistant works directly with the dentist, performing a variety of tasks from helping the dentist examine and treat patients to completing laboratory and office work.

Successful Students Need:

Computer Applications Geometry, Algebra l & ll College Prep English Chemistry, Biology Social Perceptiveness, Service Orientation, Writing, Reading and Comprehension Skills

  • Certification Opportunitites Prepare to obtain State Radiology Certification. Prepare to obtain Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Certrification.

Skills USA District 2 Competition

Selected students will compete in the Skills USA District 2 Competition at Western Montgomery Career and Technical Center.  Leadership Competitions are scheduled January 31; Skills Competitions are scheduled February 1.

We are tentatively holding February 2nd in calendar in case of snow.
